Saying Goodbye to Yet ANOTHER Honda!

OK, so I know you're all dying from shock because I am actually posting again. Because I've been out of the blog scene for quite some time, I have a ton to catch up on. This post will feel familiar to a post I did about 6 months ago when we said goodbye to my Honda Accord. Well, last November, we had to say goodbye to Jere's Accord as well. Most people would say we are just having a lot of bad luck, but both times have turned out to be blessings because in both cases, our insurance company paid for replacement cars that were newer, nicer and had much less mileage on them than our poor Accords.

This car we replaced with a 1996 Honda Odyssey that only has 100,000 miles on it (as opposed to our old 1992, two-door, that had over 200,000 miles on it.) So yes, I have finally entered the realm of mini-vans and quite frankly, I've enjoyed it quite a bit. Now when any of you come to visit, I no longer have to request that you squish in the back between the kids' carseats. And now if more than one of you come to visit at a time, I will be able to pick you all up in just one vehicle. Fabulous!

How very fun for you. I will soon be joining you in the mini-van ownership circle. I vowed I'd never do it, but there just isn't anything else out there with that kind of room, gas mileage and price. I guess I'll have to wait for the cool car until all my kids are grown or at least out of carseats. My poor little civic just isnt' going to cut it anymore. I could make it work, but since our neighbors our selling their 2004 Honda Odyssey which is in mint condition, we can't pass it up. Just think of all the fun stuff you can buy now and not worry about being able to fit it in your car. Now all you need is a bigger house! Your day will come soon enough.
Side note - guess who is moving to my neck of the woods? Heather Stratton of all people. She is suppose to come in the spring. You need to come for a visit so we can all hang out again.

Nice! I'm sure that someday I will also become a minivan mom and I will definitely go for the Odyssey!

I am so glad you have re-entered the world of blogging. I missed you! I am very excited about your minivan. I haved loved having extra space in our vehicle the last 6 months. We are moving up in the world! I am making your black bean cream cheese chicken for dinner tonight, I am so excited to try it out. I will let you know how it goes. Are you still a regular at Ikea? I would give anything to go to Ikea together right now. Doesn't it sound like so much fun!!!!!

Hi Becky! Your blog is awesome too! It was so fun to hang out at Abbi's birthday lunch! Scott is all about getting a minivan- I on the other hand... but it's practical there's no doubt about that. Talk to you soon!

Great find! I don't know how we lived for so long without a minivan. Glad you enjoy the new sisterhood :0)
